Khufiya.
Netflix
A vertical piece for the Khufiya release, framed for the phone from the first setup rather than cropped down from a landscape master.
Framed for the phone from the first setup. Cropping a landscape master down to vertical is the usual route and it always shows — heads clipped, action pushed to the edges, compositions that were never meant to be that shape.
Shooting vertical natively means blocking for a tall frame: subjects stacked rather than spread, movement running up and down the frame instead of across it. More work on the day, and the only way the result looks intentional.
